I am delighted to announce that after his last book some 12 years ago ! For the first time !! the Incredible Smith and Lee Genealogies as detailed above are now available to buy .

As detailed on my page Romany References in the menu,these 3 books are essential to anyone with Smith or Lee ancestors but of course as these two well known Romany families married into many if not nearly all!! the English Romanichals, these book are a must have to any serious Romany researcher and family historian.

Terence Lee has has been researching and writing a very major set of works which will be produced as a Trilogy (which I myself cant wait to get my hands on!!) As I have stated before these books are destined to be the classics of the future and the biggest advance in Romany History since the days of the Gypsy Lore Society and the days of the old Rais themselve's !!

The Book's are now ready!!!! (see below) as there are revisions to the original books and it does get rather complicated as these works are very Intensive and complicated as is the nature of Romany research!.

The A TO Z Of Gipsy Genealogies Part One, A4 36pp. (2007), contains the Preface, Key & Introduction to Part Two (2008). The Price of a printed version of Part One is £10.00 however it is available free of charge over the internet (with no obligation to purchase anything) by supplying an email address to the author who is the sole distributor in this medium.

The A TO Z Of Gipsy Genealogies: Part Two is an alphabetical list of about 13,000 references of two types: 1) the full piece number for almost every gipsy census for England & Wales (1841-1901) including head of household, their occupation, spouse and number of nearby others having the same surname; this gives immediate access to those having online facilities; 2) the author’s collection of CMBs, JGLS and newspaper references for The Minor Surnames. It is divided into two halves, A to Led (A4 130pp.) and Lee to Z (A4 130pp.). The Price for each half is UK £35.00; Rest of the World £41.00.

Cumbria Gipsy Index (CGI) A4 56pp (2009) is a comprehensive index of CMBs and census piece numbers (1841-1901) for gipsy and gipsylike Cumbrians covering archives deposited at Carlisle, Whitehaven, Barrow and Kendal including details found only in the originals. It could also be regarded as a source of strays for Scotland and neighbouring English counties. Price: UK £23.00; Rest of the World £28.00

The CGI includes both Major and Minor surnames whereas Part Two excludes the Cumbrian Major and a limited number of indigenous Minor surnames. There is an extended version of Part Two: A-Led (134pp, UK £38.00) and Lee-Z (140pp, UK £40) which incorporates the whole of CGI.

The Smith Gipsy Index (SGI) A4 104pp (2009) contains mostly English gipsy CMBs, birth, death, census (1841-1901), newspaper and JGLS references giving detail only to be found in the original records. Counties covered are best identified by naming those which are not so well represented, that is, COR, DVN, DOR, DUR, HRF, NMB, SHR, SOM and the Welsh Counties. Price UK £26.00; Rest of the World £31.00.
